The portal is now closed and will open on November 1, 2017. The 2017 annual open enrollment period for Marketplace insurance ended January 31, 2017. However, if you moved to a new state, changed jobs, have gotten married, divorced or had a baby in the past 60 days, you may still be able to purchase a Community First Health Plans Health (CFHP) Marketplace plan. More Information Qualifying Life Event A change in your life status makes you eligible to enroll in health care coverage through a Special Enrollment Period. Examples of qualifying life events include moving to a new state, certain changes in your income, and changes in your family size (marriage, divorce, or birth). Special Enrollment Period Any time outside of the Open Enrollment period, during which you and your family have the right to sign up for health care coverage, is considered Special Enrollment. In the Marketplace, you generally qualify for a Special Enrollment Period of 60 days following certain life events that involve a change in family status (i.e., marriage or birth of a child) or loss of other health coverage. If you do not qualify for the Special Enrollment Period, you cannot purchase insurance through the Marketplace until the next Open Enrollment period. What’s a Co-Payment A fixed amount (for example, $15) you pay for a covered health care service, usually when you get the service. The amount can vary by the type of covered health care service. What is Coinsurance Your share of the costs of a covered health care service, calculated as a percent (for example, 20%) of the allowed amount for the service. You pay coinsurance plus any deductibles you owe. What is a Deductible The amount you owe for health care services your health insurance or plan covers before your health insurance or plan begins to pay.
